Andrew Brawl Information Projects Information Projects TH, ’Feel It All Worldtour’ artwork 2015. After our collaborations since the ’Kings Of Suburbia‘ era, the guys asked me to design the artwork for their world tour 2015. Starting with the logo, posters, collectors tickets, several merchandise products right through to a bunch of neat crew jackets, sponsored by Alpha Industries. The show on stage impressed visually through many colorful patterns and structures made by a breathtaking lights- and lasershow, plus lots of outraging custom outfits and plenty of vibrating projections. I wanted to match the artwork with similar qualities. TH, ’Kings Of Suburbia’ album artwork 2014. All started with drafting the new band logo in 2013. At this time I accompanied Tokio Hotel at the recording studios during their work on the new album ’Kings Of Suburbia‘. I wanted to see their progression of artistic development and let my impressions influence the designs I was working on. So I joint that process equipped with laptop and graphic tablet. Under the continuous influence of their new music and in constant coordination with the band I developed many different directions for the album artwork. Here you can see the final results. Treehouse Ticketing CI 2015. Treehouse Ticketing is a small Berlin based ticketing firm specialized in VIP services for concerts, festivals and events. I designed a colorful logo and some office supplies. TH, ’Kings Of Suburbia’ screen prints 2014. During the artwork process for Tokio Hotel’s album ’Kings Of Suburbia‘ I was developing this illustration as another cover proposal. I wanted to create an exotic and oriental culture look in a simple and reduced technique. After album release we considered to use that for some limited screen print posters as art edition for the line of merchandise. The red and yellow ones were available in an edition of only 100 pieces each. The silver one came out with 500 prints. Every single poster is individually hand signed by each band member. TH, The Heart Get No Sleep Poster 2015. The Band‘s VIP Ticketing company asked me to design a special limited poster as gift for an unique VIP-event in Argentina. Cyberhaze Magazine 2011. This was a student project. I designed the magazine of my dreams at that time. The journal that combines philosophical perspectives and social topics with the fascination of outer space exploration. All things I was interested in influenced the content. The alchemical symbols for air, aquavit and gold are the forces behind these three categories. This first issue is entirely dedicated to the topics of reality and perception. I wanted to create kind of a clean and straight look. While most of the pages came out monochrome, many on-topic collages and illustrations found their way in the magazine. I also experimented with typography and developed a style-defining typeface inspired by mysterious runes. TH, Merchandise 2014. As I worked for Tokio Hotel’s new album the band asked me to design the new line of merchandise. We started with a range of t-shirts and an original Pumba cuddly toy. There are more products to come. TH, ’Love Who Loves You Back’ single artwork 2014. The band had the great idea to adapt an old 90s advertisement of playboy magazine. After finding the right look I designed this cover with that (not coincidental) dirty ambiguity. The song was the band’s first release after five years of creative break. TH, ’Feel It All’ single artwork 2015. The cover design was a tribute to Larry Clark’s drama film ’Kids‘, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year and was one of the main inspirations for the corresponding music video. As simple the cover design became as intense and punchy is the inside of the packaging. Just as the message of the song. To feel it all: the dark and light, the quiet and noise. New Museum, Digital Supplement 2012. As part of my final year project I designed this app in addition to the printed exhibition program. My visual idea was the user can switch and shift the content like on transparencies on a light table. The app is constantly connected with the network and always updated. Just the current exhibitions are visible. The museum can feed in all the latest announcements and promote upcoming events. Also the museum offers a members login area including exclusive photo galleries, bonus programs and other specials. The app provides a tool for scanning the barcodes on the printed papers so that the user gets access to additional content like interviews or videos. New Museum, Exhibition Papers 2012. This was my final year project of my communication design studies. I wanted to conceptualise and design a new exhibition program for the worldfamous New Museum of Contemporary Art in New York City. Inspired by one of Jenny Holzer’s truisms I chose the motto "Be now! Planning for the future is escapism." So I redesigned the museum’s logo into a seasonal changing one. The program came out as a huge paper with size of a map. Each seasonal design (logo, paper) has been inspired by one of the main exhibitions and the layouts represent new interpretations of the art itself. Every article on the papers includes a barcode which can get scanned with the app for further informations. 11:34, Art Book 2011. This is a personal art project I did in design school. A book with pictures and texts about the humans of modern age and their dark practices, the rising population and other man-made problems. Dedicated to all the people believing in love. My full intension is written down in the prologue of the book. (You find it here on the sixth image.) Self-Promotional Stickers 2015. I designed these three self-promotional stickers for my Coachella weekend in Indio, CA. I was giving them away for free.
